Treatise on the healing from epidemics and rejection of blindly leaving things to God

I acquired this manuscript in Istanbul.

Pre-islamic:
6 AH- in Mada’in
17 AH – in Jordan
Post Islamic:
 The Ta’un Jarif (flood) in Basra 240 dead.
87 AH Ta’un Fatayat in Basra and Al Wasit, Ta’un al Israf in Kufah
131 AH Basra and Baghdad and Fars (127000 dead)
423 AH Al- Hind, bilad al ‘Ajam (Iran) , Baghdad , Mosul
749 AH Makka and “kull al Bilad”
833 AH Egypt
Treatment: both spiritual and physical.
General signs for the occurrence of epidemics: comets, lots of meteors in the sky, the month of August, abundance of rats and mice.
Specific symptoms: fever, vomiting, palpitation, fainting, boils

Specific treatment: change of air, nice smells, coolness, water mixed with vinegar, musk, sandalwood and onion vapors.
According to Plato and Aristoteles rubies offer protection. Wearing them also protects from lightning.
Comb your eyebrows and you will be cured.

According to the ‘Uyun al Hukama the “small diseases" will protect from the big ones. Sirsam al Ramad.
Flu protects you from fatal fevers; an eye infection can protect you from total blindness; boils can protect you from the plague.
Infection from transmission through Sarayeh. It comes from God.

The Benefits of the Plague:
Discipline the individual: nobody goes out , is like nobody should run away from the Battle.
The Good for the Ummah: 1.many are martyrs 2. The People learn to care for the Next world.
According to a tradition of the prophet: Gabra’il came to me with Fever and Plague, I took Fever into alMadinah and sent Plague to alSham.

Praying to be saved from the Plague is Bid’ah (innovation, newfanglery). Treatment is Ja’iz (allowed).
This would be treatment: writes six verses from the Koran and put it in water. Give it to the patient to drink.
